Elizabeth Rolland

Elizabeth Rolland (nee Lyndall) was the half-sister of Rebecca Schreiner. She had travelled to the Cape in 1829 under the auspices of the London Missionary Society (L.M.S.) to establish kindergartens, and subsequently married a French missionary, Reverend Samuel Rolland. Elizabeth Rolland was an important missionary figure in her own right. All the Schreiner siblings had a close relationship with ‘Aunt Rolland’.
