John Stakesby Lewis
John Stakesby Lewis (died 1898) married Schreiners sister Ettie in October 1891 in London, although they had met in Kimberley. He was a widower with two daughters, who both died, probably of typhoid, in the same week that Ettie Stakesby Lewis died. John Stakesby Lewis was a mining engineer and one of the earliest settlers in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe).
