Opie De Villiers

Sir Jean Etienne Reenen (Oefie or Opie) De Villiers (1875 - 1947) was a well-known South African judge. Educated at the University of Cambridge he went on to have an illustrious legal career and was first appointed a judge in 1913. He was knighted in 1923. He married Minnie Edith Drummond in 1903. Schreiner knew him and mentions him in various of her letters, to her lawyer brother Will especially.
