Sarah Ann Tooley
Sarah Ann Tooley was a journalist and biographer who approached Schreiner for an interview in 1897 when she was in Britain arranging for the publication of Trooper Peter Halket of Mashonaland. Schreiner’s sharp and interesting reply to Tooley’s request is in Cronwright-Schreiner’s (1924) The Life of Olive Schreiner, with the original letter presumably destroyed. Amongst other things, Tooley wrote a well-known biography of Florence Nightingale.
