Clifford Cawood
Annie Clifford Cawood (1864 - 1949) was the eldest child of Erilda and Richard Cawood on whose farm Ganna Hoek Schreiner frequently visited in the later 1870s. She married Edward James Stanley (1858 - 1933). Schreiner’s relationship to Annie Clifford when younger is conveyed in the handful of Schreiner’s letters to her; however, as these now exist only in versions produced by Cronwright-Schreiner, they are likely to contain inaccuracies as well as major omissions.
