Kathleen Murray
Kathleen Murray (1891 - 1984) was a daughter of Schreiner’s friend Caroline Murray and her husband Charles. There are a few extant letters from Schreiner to Kathleen, most notably her moving letter of condolence when George Murray, Kathleen’s brother, was killed in action in 1918. Kathleen Murray remained single and independent “as a leading and much respected fruit farmer.” (Barham 2010: 136).
