Dear Laddie

I enclose a note from Lady Loch which has a message for you in it. I
see your name sometimes in the papers as slogging away in the law
courts so I know you are still in the land of the living.

I find writing very difficult now a days. If I wrote as often as my
thoughts are with you you would be sore oppressed with letters.

Cron is coming down to spend one day with me on Saturday. At present I
am the only person in this huge hotel, except the servants. The
weather is heavenly here; neither hot nor cold. I’m better the last
two days, & one never knows when a betterness may mean a real mend.

Dear old Dr Brown came up to see me the other day, but as he only came
by one train & went back with the next he was only here an hour.

I expect the young folk are all hard at work as the exams come near.

I love you much my dear old brother & you are fast in my heart.
Olive

I shall be here till the 10th of Dec= when I go back to Hanover. When
the winter comes if Cron has been able to build a little house I shall
try to go to de Aar, I cant go now I get such continual attacks of
angina there, I am much better in that way here, I hardly ever have an
attack.
