My darling Friend

I wonder if you really are coming to Africa soon. I feel as if you
were!

Cron returns tomorrow after a two weeks absence. We leave this for
Cape Town in a little more than two weeks, arriving there on Sunday
the 12th. We have rooms a little higher up yet than Mrs Johnson’s in
Tamboer’s Kloof. They are smaller but much cheaper than Mrs Johnsons.
I think I shall be well anywhere in Tamboer’s Kloof. I will write &
tell you all about things when I get to Cape Town. I wish so you could
here say in July, than you & I might go for a little trip to the Kowie.
I know I can’t stand July & August here without getting away a
little: we could perhaps go to beautiful Kat River & Healdtown, which
would interest you greatly. Perhaps Cron would go with us & that

^would be delightful. ^

Good bye dear one. Love to you both
Olive

If you meet Alice Corthorn be sure not to to be careful not to tell
her much of my life. I love her very much, she beautiful in so many
ways. But there are thousands of things I could say to you & Alice
Greene that I couldn’t mention to her.

‘Arriet is getting so wonderful, she’s getting to love me so just
like a dog. They are all so sweet; my poor little Kaffir is in great
sorrow at my having to leave him behind when I go to Cape Town with
Miss Viljoen on their farm.
