Dear Mrs Murray

I fear there’s been some misunderstanding. I thought when we parted
it was left to be arranged at some future time when we were to meet.
My brother told me on Monday night you’d asked if I could come on
Wednesday, but I made sure he’d told you how ill I was. I got up
yesterday afternoon but don’t think I shall be able to make any
appointments for some time.

All good wishes for the New Year. I had such a dear long letter from
Emily Hobhouse this week.

Yours ever
