Dear Fan, I haven’t heard any news of you since the 24th of March
when you wrote me birth-day letters, but till Cron got a note from
Will on business in which he says nothing of your ^any of you^ being
dead, so I suppose you are all alive, & I guess you are all back again
at Lyndall.

We have no news except that Cron has started as a general agent here,
& seems going to do well. The two meerkats & all the dogs are
flourishing. All Neta’s pups join us as a we rule if we go out for a
little walk & another little pug dog, so we are a party of ten
including Cron & myself. I don’t know what we should do without the
animals.

Dear will you do something for me. Send me the address of any place
you know where they keep Wilcox & Gill and Wheeler & Wilsons sewing
machines. I want to get one of the two. Stutterfords & Garlics to whom
I have written don’t keep them. There is no dress maker here, & I am
in a condition of absolute nakedness so I must get a machine & make
warm things. I am still without any servant.

Please give my love to all the dear ones. You never sent me that
letter you spoke of. I am pleased to see Where is Eli now? I suppose
Alsie is still with Bessie.

Good bye, dear.
Love to them all
