5rather hear about them than nothing at all. Please post the enclosed
6letter to Havelock Ellis; & let me know if you get this.

8 Do you & Miss Molteno feel more, or less hopeful than when we met in
9Beaufort West. Just tell me yes or no.

11 Are you better. I am the last days since I’ve been living here quite
12alone in this room with my little dog. There are all kinds of reports
13going about the village. The jingoes are always expecting the
14Commandos but I don’t believe they’ll ever come. It’s strange
15how fear makes people see dangers every where. I expect you know much
16more news than we do. We know nothing of what is going on in the
17district about one even. Are you thinking of going to England.
