Dear Laddie

That old person has also written to me. He is certainly mad. Cron has
never had a share in any company in his life, thank the Gods, & never
had a farm, & never heard of such a thing as the Homestead Company. He
is certainly as mad as March hare.

I m am every day meaning to come & see you in town but never get so
far.

I wish I knew more what your position really was. I can see some of
your difficulties perhaps clearer than you do yourself.

Right & truth must & do prevail in the long run. I have been young &
now am old but I have not seen a lie succeed. That is what I pin my
faith to.

Good bye, dear Lad-die.
Ol

I seem always looking for Cron.
