5 Thanks so much for your letter, & the two little dogs!!! I send you
6Cron’s last letter. He doesn’t mention it but I hear from another
7source, that he was kicked insensible in Edinburgh & had to be carried
8to a cab. Kier Hardy, who has twenty years experience of public
9meetings in England & who was with Cron at many of the meetings, says
10they were distinctly hired mobs, & not spontaneous, out bursts. You
11will see what Cron says in his letter about their sending up men from
12London. I have been laid up with bronchitis for some days, but have go
13up this afternoon.

15 Did Keetje get my wire? I addressed it just Mrs Silke, Cape Town as I
16didn’t know where she would be staying. I will write to her as soon
17as I am better.

30Lloyd can allow Theo's miserable lies to prevent him from defending
31the Boers.

35him to call on you. I would be so glad. Then you could hear all about
