Dear Mrs Murray

I send you a letter & pamphlet which I got by last post. Please when
you’ve looked at them send them to Miss Molteno & ask her to return
them to me. I know it will cheer her to have fresh proof that the best
element in the English nature does feel with us in our terrible
struggle.

I am sending home cables to England almost daily but I fear they are
being very much delayed. 60 hours.

If you should now of some quiet reliable person going home as
passenger by some steamer please let me know some time before, as I
should like to send an article home by them, as I do not trust the
post here.

I‘m have also taken a great liberty without asking you, & have told
two publishers when they write to me, if enclosing cheques to send the
letters addre in an out side envelope addressed to your care: I hope
you will not mind my having done so.

England appears today to be committing murder, but what she is really
committing is self murder.

Yours ever
