Legend
The Project is grateful to Manuscripts and Archives, University of Cape Town, for kindly allowing us to transcribe this Olive Schreiner letter, which is part of its Manuscripts and Archives Collections. The month and year have been written on this letter in an unknown hand. Schreiner was mainly resident in Matjesfontein between December 1889 and December 1892, with some fairly lengthy visits elsewhere, including Cape Town.
1 Do let me know when Fan leaves for Grahamstown. Should like if
2possible to make arrangements to go same time. Can’t if I don’t
3know some time before hand. Should like very much to see Ettie off on
410th but if there is any reason why Fan must goo go sooner, shall try
5to go to Worcester to see her. Write please at once. The ^11th^ or 12th
6would be the date that would suit me best; but I will arrange anything
7go with them. I am longing for my boy. He enjoyed his time with Frank
8Reitz
very much.

11Wilfred will come down on Thursday evening to town. When he comes back
12from Natal I would like if you think well to go to Kimberley to meet
13him & spend a few days there with him, showing him things. I want so
14to take him about like I used to when he was little in London. I can
15do so little to make him happy here, & it is perhaps the last time I
16shall ever have him. Can you think of anything else nice we could do?
