This letter was written before Monday 13 December 1886, the day of the Men and Women's Club meeting referred to. Schreiner was resident in Blandford Square from October to late December 1886.

Dear Miss Sharpe.

3 I have been confined to my bed for ten days The doctor wrote to tell
4Mr Parker I couldn’t get my paper done. I feel much better tonight,
5& will try & send a few lines on Monday evening to Mr ^Ryles^ Please
6send me Mr Ryles’ address as can’t get up to find card. It will
7take about fifteen or twenty minutes only to read what I would like to
8say. its only a little suggestion about illegitimate children, whi I
9can’t finish my unreadable marriage note.
