Dear Ruth

The photo is splendid; only baby has not come out so well in it ?Esme
is simply life-like, & I don't think you have a lovelier photograph of
your dear old father. I do wish I could have seen your people. I
suppose they have gone by this time.

I am getting so much better here. You'd hardly know me. It is so cool
up here, we had frost two days ago!

I am going down into the town of Graaff Reinet this week to attend a
large woman's suffrage meeting. I'm not going to speak, but they've
asked me to be present. I will send you a report of the meeting.

I wish I could see you & have a long talk with you, darling Ruth. It
will be very long before I see Cape Town again I think.

Good bye.

Thine ever
Olive Schreiner

^Your picture is so sweet. You look like one of the Madonna's in Venice.
You'll never have a better taken.^
