I send you a few American reviews a publisher sent me this morning.
Please send them on to my Mother in enclosed envelope. I never read
reviews. I know some kind & sympathetic people & reviewers often are,
but its ?after always painful to hear people discuss ones work as if
you loved a man utterly, it would be painful to hear anyone talk of
your love for him, or his for you.

I was very ill in Grahamstown & have had to come back.

It is cold & rainy here, but I love Matjesfontein with all my heart.
