7 It was such a disappointment to me that you were gone when I came; we
8must have passed you on the sea.

10 Cron sent Mr Sauer this morning the copy of a letter he sent to the
11Times in answer to that wonderfully low letter ?Wegman wrote about Mr
12Sauer. Get him to show it you.

14 There has also been a disgraceful letter about Innes in the Globe. I
15am sorry for unreadable not here when it was written. I do hope the
16leading men at the Cape though they may not be able to work in one
17Ministry, will yet combine to support one another at the present time.

19 I am sending you a copy of my little book "Peter Halket." Tell me what
20you think of it.
