This letter has been dated by reference to when Schreiner was staying at the Black Bull in Cambridge with her brother Will, which was May 1914. The letter is on printed headed notepaper with an image of a black bull.

8Thank you for the MS & your letter. I am so sorry I shan’t be able
9to go on ?Monday I must put off that pleasure till I return from
