8Thanks for your note of yesterday, ^to^ hand on my arrival here today.

10With this I am returning the proofs, corrected. As you will have
11gathered from my note of yesterday (and my wife’s P.S.), Mrs
12Schreiner does not wish you to go to press until she has checked the
13corrections which have been made on the proofs which you have sent us.
14This is important. This final revision will not take long: I will
15attend to it as soon as the complete set reaches me, & return them
16quickly. When sending the whole for final revision, I should be glad
17to have the various proof sheets (which I have corrected) to
18facilitate the revision.

20As soon as I hear from America, I will at once communicate with you,
21as I mentioned last night.

23I trust you were not kept waiting at Heneman’s: I caught a train &
24got home nicely.
