I am so thankful I went down to see her when I did. That Friday
evening when I was walking alone toward the kop & you & Miss Greene
were walking out the other way, it came to me with such imperativeness,
that I must go down to Cape Town & go down on the Sunday, not any
later. It was all so well that I went. It seemed such a comfort and
help to my darling husband too. It is one of the things I shall always
feel grateful for.

We have not fruit no vegetables, no butter, no milk here, but at the
Hotel they had vegetables they ordered up from somewhere we have
plenty of eggs just now, that’s all. I’ thinking of Miss Greene if she
comes. I always manage to have dried fruit stewed, that takes the
place of vegetables to some extent.
