What would I not give to see you & talk with you now. Deeper & deeper
in blood shed & horror we sink here.

Have you heard of the shooting of Mr Skepington. I suppose they shield
the man who shot him, but if by any possibility they brought him in
guilty, I have written to his wife to beg her to ask for his life. It
would be the noblest monument to pacifism the world has any record of.
Some one must begin to end this horror of hate & bloodshed I think
that Liebknecht will yet be killed in Germany & many pacifists every
where but a man couldnt do better than so.

I hope your brother James is better Oliver came home for five days but
has gone back to the trenches. Dot & Ursula leave for France on
Wednesday
