My dear old Brother

Thank you so much about the trouble you took about my thing, & yet
more for your letter. I would have written as soon as I got it; but
this fog unreadable choked me off pretty considerably. I’m better
tonight.

Of course you couldn’t take any of Fred’s things neither could I:
but seeing them all seemed to unnerve me: I felt as if I couldn’t
let them go. I have such a curious clinging to material things
connected with those I love. They seem alive to me. Of course its
foolish.

I’m so glad you are a bit better. You must take care of yourself
dear, & have the fires & nourishment you need. Its foolish to let a
person get ill on whom so much depends.

Once thoroughly run down one if open to every form of illness.

Thank you so much for you letter.
