The address this postcard was sent to is written on its front. Schreiner was resident at Porchester Place from early April 1917 until August 1920, when she left Britain for South Africa.

6I seems so long since I have any news from the Cape. I hope all goes
7well with you, all.
9The cold here is terrific & is laying thick on the ground out side.
10Some papers say it is the cutting of the Panama Canal which is
11altering the Gulf Stream & making England so cold & terrible. Betty is
12sitting by the fire in an arm chair & reading. She looks very well.
