9Jane Addams & Dr Jacobs & some other women who were at the Hague
10conference are here. I wish you could see Jane Addams. It would be
11worth your while to go all the way to America just to see her face,
12the beautiful calm & strength of the face so deeply lined with all the
13cares & sorrows of her fellow men. One who has done so much actual
14practical work for her fellows. Love seems to be written on every line
15of her face, & with it such balance, such strong sense of humour. I am
16going to her meeting at Kingsway Hall tonight to be on the platform.
17This is a large public meeting - we have had two private ones already.
18I wish you were here. I am working at my thing on war. Please send
19this note to Ruth Alexander because I haven’t time to write to her
20this post my dear love to you both
