My dear old Brother

I did enjoy the drive yesterday & seeing you, & Dot, but it’s
pitiful seeing you bothe so unfit. Our girl will need building up for
some time with strong light broth if she can take it, & things of that
kind. I’m glad the servants are so fond of her, & good.

You don’t know how I prized your birthday letter, dear, I’ll
always keep it.

A word of love is more value to me now than times were once!

The drive did me good. It’s the first time I’ve been right out of
London for 6 months. I’m going down to Eastbourne for a day soon to
put some violets on Freds grave. He gave me a bunch he’d picked
himself the day after I came to England, & told me he liked them
better than any other flowers. And I’m going to give a little bunch
back to him. It was just about this time of year when I arrived.

Good bye dear.
