6 We had a very nice Xmas here together, Oliver Ursula the little Doctor
7& I. Ursula is working very hard this week as the exam comes on next
8week. She is looking very well in spite of the work. Oliver looks well
9but is not fat. I hope the time in Italy will do him good. We start
10off in next Saturday I do hope Italy will show us her sunny face as
11dear old London is doing now.

13 Young ?Thomson a Cape friend of Ol’s was here last night, a nice
14fellow & unreadable Gie is coming one night this week – Alice asked
15him for Xmas but he was out in the country. Oliver says he’s as nice
16as my little Charly but I can hardly believe that possible! Every one
17here is so good to me I seem to be living in a kind of dream.

19 I am longing for the Cape mail on Tuesday I am going to see Lady Lock
20on Monday.

22 Tomorrow night Eveline Sharp one of the leading suffragettes is coming
23to have dinner with us.

25 I gave the children their gifts, & Ursie her flowers.

27 Good bye dear old sister. I shall make full enquiries in Florence &
