4 Saturday will be your birth-day, dear old Man. Many happy years yet to
5come, to see the dear children growing in grace & settled in life,
6each in their own path.

8 All goes with us as ever, the old man works at his office & gets what
9change he can out of golf & the dances that are rather frequent now
10the defence force is here. I water the trees in my garden, when I am
11able & like to see them grow.

16 Ursie will have a stiff years work before her, poor little girl. I’m
17so glad she’s interested in her work. I see Dot’s Ursie’s & the
18mother’s names sometimes in the papers re=dresses Dot in pale green
19– so I know you are all alive.
