Dear Mrs Solly

As I lie here in pain I so often think of you. I know that with you as
with myself it is not all the physical anguish that matters, but the
not being able to do the work one wishes to do.

I do hope you are better, & that you really will return to good health
& power for much useful work for your fellows. I am still able to walk
about, but am getting steadily worse, & my thoughts go often to you &
all those of my friends who suffer physically.

All that can comfort us as we come to the end, is that in as far as we
could, in our poor little way, we have tried to relieve the pain of
others.

Yours very sincerely
Olive Schreiner
