Dear Laddie

Thy little sister has not forgotten the 30th but I fear this will come
just two days too late. I hope you’ll have a good day, & that all
the visit is doing you good.

Our girl comes to me tomorrow. Three of people wrote to me about her
having a bad fixed cough & it made me so anxious I’ve got her to
come up & see me & see if this air won’t cut it short. This is a
place as good for the lungs as its bad for the heart. This
tremendously dry stimulating air seems to stop off all lung trouble at
once. We’ve had splendid rains here – an unheard of thing at this
time of year, the de Aar veld is actually green! & there is no dust.
So I guess she’ll drop her cough at once. I’m afraid it will be
awfully dull for her here., but a little complete rest with nothing
interesting to do may not be bad for her. Like many of our family she
lives too fast & spends too much vital force, she’s always actively
living! I saw your name in the papers as to Bothas d lunch.

Dot writes me that Fan is going to stay at Worcester while she is here.
I’m so glad, the reason I didn’t like asking her was the leaving
the dear little mother in the big house alone.

Good bye, dear.

I’ll leave this open to tell you how our girl looks when she comes.

Have a good time & come back to us refreshed
Olive
