6 I’ve been thinking much over your letter of this morning - & the
7temptation is too great. Its not the Falls I care about, but going
8with the others! I’ve decided at last that I will stifle all
9questions of conscience - & go.

11 I shall see so much more of them all than I ever could in a few days
12visit to Cape Town

18 I’m reading The Party System by Belloc. It’s got a great deal of
19truth in it. I was delighted & surprised the other day to get a letter
20congratulating me about my book from Roux the Dutch reformed Minister
21at Beaufort West who is suffering from sleeping sickness. He still has
22
23 ^to lie on his back & there is not much hope of his pulling through.
24He’s the finest man they have in the Dutch Church. He’s a man.^
