Dear old Man

I’ve been thinking much over your letter of this morning - & the
temptation is too great. Its not the Falls I care about, but going
with the others! I’ve decided at last that I will stifle all
questions of conscience - & go.

I shall see so much more of them all than I ever could in a few days
visit to Cape Town

Thank you so much dear for thinking of it. It’s like you.

I’m reading The Party System by Belloc. It’s got a great deal of
truth in it. I was delighted & surprised the other day to get a letter
congratulating me about my book from Roux the Dutch reformed Minister
at Beaufort West who is suffering from sleeping sickness. He still has

^to lie on his back & there is not much hope of his pulling through.
He’s the finest man they have in the Dutch Church. He’s a man.^
