Dear Friend

It will be Xmas in two days. I hope you & Alice will both be spending
it in England among your folk.

It is beautifully cool up her & the dear Murrays a most kind, their
second little girl Kathleen is a most attractive & remarkable child
– a child after my own heart – a little wild creature of eight,
full of intellect – spending her life in climbing trees, riding
horses, & with a passionate all absorbing love for animals. I have a
curiouse sense of kin-ship with her.

Good bye. May next year bring you both much good
