Dear old sister

I have only just now heard of "Tatta" Jouberts death which they say
took place quite suddenly nearly a month ago. ^What was the cause?^ I
know how much you will have felt it not merely for your own sake, but
for his mother’s. Please give her my love & tell her how very sorry
I was to hear of it. It seems hard that she should have had to see two
of her grown up children go before her.

All good wishes to you all for Xmas, dear. It will be Dot’s first
Xmas at home for a tiny time, & I suppose by next Xmas Oliver will be
in England. They write me that the meeting on the 7th was a great
success.

Good bye, dear.
Your loving little sister
Olive

Everyone is very kind to me here, & the air is doing me great good. I
am writing hard all the time.

It seems a bit sad that I can’t have my home in a climate in which I
can live, without wandering about for six months in the year seeking
rest for the sole of my foot: I long so to be at home sometimes: but I
ought to be grateful to have found a place where I can work
OS

Give my love to my dear old Brother.
