Dear Mrs Murray

Thank you for your letter from Rodesia. I hope the journey remained as
delightful to the end. I’m so sorry I couldn’t manage the walk to
the station. The day you passed de Aar was a beautiful day compared to
most we have! The day you were with me was a day we only get once or
twice in a year.

I am so glad your brother James has been made speaker. Please give him
my hearty congratulations. I have been here five days now; such a
delightful peaceful place, & the dear Murrays are so charming. There
is a very nice little boy staying with them of Mrs Jim Binell’s,
such a sweet well train child, every one loves him here, & they have a
very nice governess so we are quite a pleasant little party. I can
hardly say how the place will suit my heart yet, but I think
splendidly. I have done nothing but sleep the five days I’ve been
here, the mountain top air is so splendid.

I hear Lyndall Schreiner is to secretary of the W.E.L. Is it so?
Don’t

I hope your trip has really rested you. You looked tired when you were
at de Aar.

Good bye.
Yours ever
Olive Schreiner

I wonder how Cape people like the Gladstones & if they still have to
bow down to him?
