Dear Fan

I have just found that Kate Stuart (not Theo) wired ^wrote^ off to Will
the moment Theo was said to have typhoid, so a wire came from Will
today asking how he was. I was so careful to impress on Joe Sutton he
must not wire to Will as he thought of doing because I know what the
mental strain is, under which he is working, if he only gets through
without breaking down! I won’t even write write him a pleas-ant
little note myself for fear of giving him something
^
more to think of. Mr Sutton leaves tonight for Aliwal. He is looking
much better. I shall quite miss him.

Theo is much better, read the newspapers today & his temperature is
only 101.

Good bye dear.
