A dating of November 1909 has been written on the letter in an unknown hand. However, the troubles in the WEL referred to in it suggests an earlier part of the year, thus the approximate dating given to it.

3 I am sending Mrs Macintoshes letter to me to Minnie who will send it
4to you & Mrs Solly to answer.

6 Do write too to Mrs Haldene Murray. Mrs Brown I am sure has been
7writing to her.

9 Be sure in writing to both to explain that it is a matter much deeper
10than the petition we are acting about & quote to her the passage in
11the in set giving all our powers permanently to the National committee
12from the in set, & explain to her who it was not made clear to you.
