Dear Laddie

I suppose this is almost the last line from me that will reach you in
England. Already the groans of rising anti-English & anti-Dutch
feelings are beginning to rise here! The butter with which they
buttered each other down at the convention will soon melt & run off. I
am always thinking of you, dear. It will be nice to see you when we go
down October, & hear how things have gone with you. I am sending this
word to Morley’s Hotel, as it will be sent on it you didn’t go
there. I hope Dot has been able to make it a lovely time for the dear
little mother.

Dear old Naudè of Queens^town^ has gone off suddenly as you will no
doubt have seen in the papers.

I wish you could give yourself a six weeks at Nauheim before you come
out.
Love to you all.

^Cron sends his love.^

^Many happy returns of your Birth day. I expect you will be on the
water when it comes. Ol.^
