Dear old Fan

I’ve arrived here at last. I am feeling better already though I only
came here this morning. I’m sending you a copy of the "Transvaal
leader" with an article by Albert Cartwright who used to editor the S.
A. News. He mentions your dear old Brother Frank in it I don’t
mention his name but you will see my reference to him at the end of my
article. Have you good news of him? I hope you & Ursula had a happy
Xmas though so far from your three menfolk.

There are only two people in this big hotel besides myself so its
pretty quiet, but the air is wonderful after de Aar. I have left Ollie
& the meerkats to keep Cron company. I miss them much.

Write to me dear & give me your news. I’ve not heard from my old
brother, so dont know where to write to him. I saw in one of the
papers he was going to East London? Is it so. All good wishes for the
new year.

Thine ever
Olive
