Dear Mrs Drew

I grieve to see that another of your fathers grandsons is missing. I
do hope he will soon be found alive & well even with if a prisoner. I
have just heard that another cousin of my own who was with the
Canadians was last heard of at the fight at St Juliens & may be either
dead, wounded or missing. It is the terrible uncertainty that is so
crushing I do hope you will have good news soon. I shall look out for
it in the papers

Yours with much sympathy
Olive Schreiner

Don't trouble to answer. If later unreadable I know how full life is
now.
