Dear Mrs Marscheles

I have just seen the notice in the paper of your husbands death – a
beautiful existence, spent in producing beauty, ended. I always see
the beautiful look in his clear eyes as he sat under the trees in your
garden the last time but one I saw him; they were as clear as a childs.

When you come back please let me know when I can come & see you.

With deep love & sympathy
Yours ever
Olive Schreiner
