8 How I wish you were here. I think the best plan would be for you to
9leave Miss Greene in England for a month or two & come out, & then you
10would feel satisfied about South Africa & could go back to her.

12 Nest Friday I am going to spend the day with Mrs Murray & we are going
13to drive out with to Anna Purcells in the afternoon. Yesterday
14Merriman called & we had a long talk of a couple of hours very
15interesting. We are going to dine with them at Mount Nelson this
16evening.

18 Today is a public holiday & Cron & I are going to walk up to the
19Highlands this afternoon to see & attend to my six poor little
20meerkats which are shut up

22^in the Hen-House there. Town’s trial with regard to the Basson
23murder case is coming on this week. My brother Will is very sweet to
24me just now, even wants to talk politics with me!! Dear old Boy,
25he’s so sweet & unselfish in all personal matters. If only he’s be
26as sweet where politics are concerned. Darling I wish you were here. ^
