Dear dear Friends

The clouds are closing in about us. I seem to be walking about all the
time with a knife somewhere in my left side. I have just had a cable
from the New York journal asking if I will be war correspondent for
that paper for £110 a month. If I can only get well enough to go up I
shall take it. I will write ^will wire^ & let you know my movements;
till I leave ^do^ address here.
