My dear Friend

I was so glad to get your letter. I hope you don’t feel ^very^ sad
about the boarders being fewer ^one loves a thing so that you have
laboured at as you have at your school^. I expect it is the effect of
you & your family being identified with the non-Progressive side.
These political feelings creep in everywhere. Cron & I are quite as
unpopular here with the fashionable millionaire set as we were in
Kimberley.

I had a letter from What do you think of Sauer’s action in stopping
that special train? It seems to me madness, but I may not understand.
What does your brother Charles think about it? Good night my dear love
to you both.
