Dear Boy

Keep the money till I come. I have ?pay the £50 I got for my Dreams
book to Alice Corthorn, & if Fred will let me shall give her £40 of
this. I spend £10 of it to pay for a dress & book I got when I was in
town last.

The Sands are here. I am going in the train with them to Bloemfontein
as it will be a comfortable saloon & I can sit outside most of the way.
It very good of them to let me.

I am quite accustomed to appearing in the little ?Spires. A Church of
England Clergyman took the text for his sermon out of S.A.F. & said it
was the most valuable & noble book from the religious point of view
that had unreadable been written in this country. Saul is among the
prophets with-out meaning it. I shall end by being respectable & then
I shall hate myself.

Seymore Fort keeps me well supplied in the children’s sayings &
doings. He is very fond of them. I think seeing them sometimes is a
little comfort to him, he is sometimes especially of late, very lonely.
He & I grow nearer & nearer as friends.

Please expect me on the evening of the 5th Friday. I shall be so glad
to see you all.
