The date of this postcard is provided by the postmark. The address it was sent to and the addressee are on the card and there is a colour picture of a field of arum lilies with a kappied girl in it on its front, with the printed caption ‘Field of Arum Lilies – South African Weeds. W.B.P. Series, Cape Town.’ Schreiner was resident in Hanover from September 1900 to October 1907, after 1902 with visits, sometimes fairly lengthy, elsewhere.
