3This ought to have gone a week ago. Every thing is so dark &
4mysterious I can make nothing out of the papers. The only thing one
5can think of is that there is going to be a great European war. War &
6war becomes more & more hideous to me. It’s the moral deteriorations
7of war thats so terrible. Its not much good writing now-a-days! I
8would give, I don’t know what I would give to have you & Miss Greene
9here. But I feel its selfish to want you as you are much safer there.
