5 Just got your & Fan’s wire – shall arrive Friday evening.

7 The heat here terrific today. The drought getting worse & worse.

9 Just had a sweet letter from Jessie Rose-Innes asking me to come &
10stay with her for a couple of weeks, but I’d rather come to you
11first. I may feel better as soon as I get down Hex River. The relief
12of getting lower is wonderful. One feels like a wound up spring
13suddenly let loose.
