3 I’m sending you Will’s to me, in case it should have any news
4he’s not had time to give you.

6 I’ve got letters from Dr Corthorn Lady Constance Lytton & her cousin
7Adela Smith (she used to be Adela Villiers when she stayed with the
8Lochs) they all want to do all they can for our little girl, & to have
9her to stay with them.

11 I am sending her a letter of introduction to some old & dear friends
12of mine, a Professor Roberts & his wife at Cambridge whom I know she
13will like, & who will I’m sure love her.

15 I am sorry to hear there are such floods of rain in Cape Town, as it
16will make it very damp when we go down. I fear I shall only be able to
17stay a few days. It is pouring here, day & night; we never see the sun
18the vley round the town is like a river.
