4 Oh I hope so much you are both going to Uitkÿk. I am sure it will be
5good for you. I ^wonder^ if the great bare nature there will help you.
6Sometimes nature & being alone within it comforts one more than
7anything else; & sometimes one can’t just bear it. I know how
8anxiously you are waiting for the letters. Let me know when you get
9them. I know the Le Roux’s will be so kind I can never forget their
10kindness to us last winter.

12 Cron will come back again on Friday he will have been gone ten days.
13It seems if I had known he was going away so soon I might have stayed
14on in Cape Town, & then I could have been with you now. Not that I
15could help you, but one wants so to be with people when they are in
16pain. Nothing that is said can comfort one; but I think the
17consciousness that love is about you does help.

19 I can’t help feeling anxious about Miss Molteno. It is not her body in
20her

22^a sense that is ill all. I hope the Karroo air will bring her back to
23strength. ^
